Win7 Deployment

Windows 7 came out with rich set of features as well as more stable and secured. It essentially starting up faster than Vista, and closing down faster as well. Saves some of your laptop batery power upto an extent of 10%.

So, we prepared our demo using Windows 7 evaluation version, as it is still not pubicly launched. We used the same technique like Windows Vista, to create the first machine using Autounattend.xml file, and then creating image to deploy it across a broad spectrum of hardware.

Our experience indicates that the entire one machine deployment can come down to 30 minutes or less with Windows 7.

The build can be maintained offline, like we can add patches and drivers, without putting it on a machine.

We are expecting most of you to embrace Windows 7 after Microsoft comes out with the first service pack SP1 for it, sometime around August/Sepember 2010. However, we like you to do the assessment and planning in the meantime.

Application assessment for Windows 7 desktop is another crucial area, which demands your attention too.
